Overdraft Protection

Effective August 15, 2010 financial institutions are required to have their members' authorization to participate in an Overdraft Protection Program (ODP) for ATM, debit card, automatic payments and check transactions. Although First Source has had an ODP program in place for a while, known as Member Reserve, you must now give us written authorization to further use our Member Reserve program for coverage on these types of transactions.

While it is always important to monitor your spending and the balance of your accounts, by authorizing participation in our ODP/Member Reserve program, you then have peace of mind and the flexibility during life's little unpredictable moments.

Avoid embarrassment due to a transaction decline such as checking out at the grocery store with a basket full of items.
Ensure essential bills are not left unpaid due to unavailable funds and avoid possible service disruption or credit bureau reporting.
Feel confident that should you accidentally go over your available funds, your Credit Union has you covered.
If that young adult in your life is just getting started with his/her own account, Member Reserve helps protect them during their learning period while showing them how to be careful and responsible.

How ODP/Member Reserve works:
Through our free Overdraft Protection program, we will first withdraw funds from your linked share account(s) or line of credit. Should there be insufficient funds available to cover the transaction, First Source will honor overdrafts up to $500 beyond your available funds through our Member Reserve program.

Note: A $25 fee is charged to your account each time First Source covers a transaction that is over your current available funds. Member Reserve is a non-contractual courtesy and we reserve the right to make changes at any time or discontinue the service without prior notice. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction may be immediately declined.
