Full-time Data Analyst


Extract and analyze data sets, and perform research to support the various business units of the credit union. Analysis will result in enhanced marketing and sales efforts, product and service developments, advancements in technology, business partnerships, and key business insights for management oversight and planning to support the credit union’s strategic goals. This position requires innovation and creativity while adhering to structured systems and processes.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficiency in working with the credit union’s multiple data sources and external sources to extract and join structured and unstructured information

  • Assist with data management

  • Design data models for basic, applied, quantitative, and qualitative research and analysis

  • Conduct field research, including solicited and unsolicited Member feedback mechanisms

  • Proactively identify trends, developments, and leading indicators that could have a direct or indirect impact on the financial institution

  • Present findings to respective business units in the form of dashboards, proposals, recommendations, and presentations

  • Provide support and education to business units on published data models

  • Perform routine and ad-hoc research and reporting per the direction of immediate supervisor, and collaboration with colleagues and cross-functional business units

  • Maintain solid working knowledge of credit union products, services, processes, and delivery channels

  • Work collaboratively with Marketing and Information Systems to research, analyze, assess, develop, and constantly improve credit union business intelligence, data analytics, and data warehouse tools to better meet the needs of the organization for planning and oversight; project-related analysis and decision points; target marketing; and goal setting

  • Identify and maintain technology solutions to support department efficiencies and workflows

  • Maintain relations with vendors, credit union contacts, and industry sources for the sake of powering research instruments and information sharing

  • Demonstrate eagerness and commitment to continual learning and innovation

  • Lead or assist with special projects as assigned

  • Participate in necessary compliance training, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy, OFAC, and Privacy 

  • Participate in First Source Federal Credit Union events, as well as designated Community events

  • Attend training sessions as appropriate 

  • Travel as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or 4 to 5 years’ related experience 

  • Experience working with databases and programming languages such as SQL or C++

  • Familiarity developing ETL processes for source data, data models, and other data warehouse structural components

  • Preferred experience working in Tableau, Microsoft BI, or similar Visualization tools

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting abilities

  • Familiarity with financial products and services is desirable

  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively with others

  • Proven skills as consensus builder 

  • Professional appearance and the ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and work flexible or extended hours when necessary
