Financially Responsible Dates

June 25, 2013

Let’s face it, sometimes funds are tight. So how can you wow your significant other or make a lasting impression on your first date without breaking the bank? We’ve got you covered. There are tons of options for some financially responsible dates. Below, check out a few of our ideas to get you started.

Take a walk. Whether it’s in one of our many parks or trails, or a walk through downtown or the brewery district, walking for the sake of walking is a good way to see how you get along.

Go to a pick-your-own farm. It’s summer in CNY and there are great opportunities to chat while supporting local farms and agriculture.

Take a Photowalk. Map out a walking route and snap away with your smartphones. You’ll get to share some of your favorite places and take some great photos along the way. Plus, you’ll each get to showcase your creativity (or at least how well you use Instagram filters).

Dance. Look for some free or low-cost lessons from local instructors, colleges, or arts centers. Get out of your comfort zone and try something new!

Double up on culture. Places like the Zoo or our local museums are low-cost ways to enjoy a sunny day or a rainy afternoon. You just might learn something too!

Have an idea that we’ve missed? Let us know in the comments. Of course, if you need a bit of help setting budgets or generally getting your financial life back on track, we’ll put You First.
