2026 Scholarship Opportunities
From The New York Credit Union Association’s Statewide College Scholarship Program
First Source is pleased to be participating in the New York Credit Union Association’s Statewide College Scholarship Program. Last year, this program awarded $32,250 in scholarships to 50 students across New York with scholarships ranging from $250 - $1,500. As a part of this program, First Source Federal Credit Union will also be giving out an additional scholarship worth $2,500. Applicants must be a Member who is a graduating senior in Herkimer or Oneida County who applies and fits the criteria below.
Eligibility
To be eligible, students must be high school seniors attending two or four-year accredited educational institutions for the first time in the fall of 2026. They must also be Members of First Source or another participating New York Credit Union. Students/applicants will be competing against other credit union members from across the state.
Judging
Applicants will be judged based upon their academic achievements, extracurricular and community activities and the quality of their written essay.
How to Apply

Complete the Scholarship Application.

Obtain a Credit Union Verification Code from First Source to verify eligibility by emailing Pamela Way at pway@fsource.org.

Complete the Certification and Release Authorization on the last page of the application.

Upload three separate files as PDF, Word documents or JPGs. Google Docs or links will not be accepted.

Submit the application* (no login required). You’ll see “Nomination successfully saved” when complete.
Important Tips for Completing Your Application

Enter your name and email in both “Nominee” and “Nominated By.”

Disregard the “Reasons for Nomination” section.

Fill in all required fields before clicking “Save.”

Each credit union requires a separate submission if applying to multiple programs.
