First Source Holds Ribbon Cutting for Experience Truck

October 21, 2024

First Source held an official grand opening ribbon cutting for their Experience Truck on Tuesday, October 8th. The truck is a one-of-a-kind, First Source community experience on wheels meant to engage with their Members and the Community where they are.

Originally debuting in May for Teacher Appreciation Week, the truck has enabled First Source to have a more meaningful presence when on site for local events. When interacting with First Source Employees in the Truck, you can expect an experience made up of several components generally consisting of: financial education, a beverage or snack, game, or giveaway.

This summer, the truck aided First Source in the ability to hand out slushies at local charity golf tournaments as part of their hospitality tent with a theme of why it’s important to start a “slush fund”, preparing, saving and planning ahead; not just for a rainy day but for fun things too. The truck has also been used to deliver sweet treats to healthcare workers, and driven in the Ilion Doo Dah Days and Rome Honor America Days Parades.

“We are beyond excited to have this truck as a part of our resources to reach our community,” said Pamela Way, First Source Community Engagement Manager. “The idea that our team can be more mobile and provide a higher level of experience and engagement has been a concept for a few years, so to see it come to life and put it in motion is really something special.”

You can expect to see the experience truck at events such as parades, golf tournaments, and wellness/job fairs. The truck can also be found at locations such as schools, museums, sports complexes, and libraries. The truck is not available to rent or for general public use. It can be requested for an event through the First Source online donation request portal at fsource.org/givesback. Please note, the truck is generally reserved for enhancing sponsorships and partnerships, as well as delivering financial education.
