First Source and The Genesis Group are proud to once again announce the annual Financial Education Scholarship Grant for Teachers. This program recognizes and supports educators who bring personal finance and money management into the classroom—skills that make a lasting impact on students’ futures.
Why This Matters
Managing money is a life skill, and it often starts in the classroom. Teachers who bring financial education into their lessons help students build confidence in handling real-world challenges—from saving for the future to understanding debt and credit. These skills empower students to make smarter choices and set them on a path toward financial independence.
“Financial education is more important than ever in schools due to the increasing difficulty of affordability and rising levels of debt among young people,” says Pamela Way, Community Relations Manager at First Source. “We help to support our schools in sharing this knowledge and education, by offering scholarship grants that allow for 3 classrooms to receive $1,000 each to fund a project or program that teaches personal finance and money management. Introducing these concepts early provides students with the critical skills they need to navigate adulthood successfully and build a more secure financial future.”
