On Saturday, September 12, Team First Source proudly participated in the Parkinson's Awareness Walk at New Hartford Town Park, joining hundreds of community members in raising awareness and support for those affected by Parkinson's disease.
For the third consecutive year, First Source Federal Credit Union served as the event's presenting sponsor, continuing a commitment that began in 2024 in honor of Mike Parsons, former CEO of First Source, following his Parkinson's disease diagnosis.
What started as a tribute has grown into a meaningful tradition that brings together employees, community members, families, and supporters united by a common goal: advancing awareness, funding research, and supporting those living with Parkinson's disease.
This year, Team First Source made an incredible impact, raising a total of $9,500 for the cause. In addition to the credit union's $7,500 presenting sponsorship, employees and community supporters raised an additional $2,000 through fundraising efforts, demonstrating the power of coming together for something bigger than ourselves.
The support extended beyond fundraising. Twenty-nine First Source employees laced up their walking shoes and participated in the event, walking side by side with community members, caregivers, and individuals affected by Parkinson's disease. Their participation reflected the compassion, generosity, and community spirit that defines Team First Source.
At First Source, supporting our community means showing up, lending a hand, and standing alongside those facing challenges. We are honored to continue supporting the Parkinson's Awareness Walk and the important work being done to improve the lives of individuals and families impacted by Parkinson's disease.
Thank you to everyone who donated, walked, volunteered, and helped make this year's event a success. Together, we're making a difference one step at a time. 💙💛
