First Source was thrilled to share their sponsorship of the Multi-Purpose Room at the Utica Children’s Museum as a dedication to Mike Parsons. On September 30th a small ceremony was held with the unveiling of the signage labeling the room:
“First Source Multi-Purpose Room in honor of Mike Parsons
for his service & dedication to our community.”
Mike Parsons was instrumental in bringing the new Utica Children’s Museum from concept to reality as a UCM Capital Campaign Co-chair. He also served on the ICAN Board Of Directors for 6 years and was at one time Board President. Lastly but certainly not least, he served as First Source’s CEO for almost 20 years! When you look at these accomplishments together, coupled with the impact Mike has had on our community, there was no question by all parties that the room should include his name.
“We are so appreciative of the Children’s Museum for their creativity when it came to the design of the signage,” said Pamela Way, First Source Community Engagement Manager. “In their signature doodle-style, they created an image with a likeness of Mike, the First Source Diamond logo, and a nod to the banking industry in which Mike has worked in for the majority of his career. It was so well thought out, and we are really happy with the way it all came together.”
First Source, Utica Children’s Museum, and ICAN Employees & Board Members; Local Officials, and Family Members were on site to commemorate the dedication. “Mike Parsons’ leadership and dedication have left a profound mark on our community. It is fitting that his legacy will continue to inspire families and children through the First Source Federal Credit Union Multi-Purpose Room at the Utica Children’s Museum,” said Steve Bulger, President/CEO of ICAN. “We are grateful not only for his service as a previous board member, board president, capital campaign co-chair but for his vision and generosity in helping build brighter futures for generations to come.”
