Make Tax Season Less Stressful With These Useful Resources And Tips
Many people dread tax season, even some accountants, but our friends at Banzai have some great resources to help make tax preparation a bit easier.
They offer quick reads and activities of no longer than 5 minutes each. Check out the topics and links below:
Important Info When Filing
If your tax refund is being deposited electronically, it is imperative that you provide the IRS with the correct deposit account information. Every year tax returns end up in the wrong accounts, due to errors in submitted account numbers. Should this happen, you’ll have to call the IRS at 800-829-1040, and have them file an IRS form 3911 to track down your tax return. To minimize issues, be sure to:
Use caution when setting up the direct deposit of your tax refunds. Refunds are deposited solely based on account number, not by name.
Make sure you use your full 9-digit routing number and 14-digit account number. This information can be found on your checks or within your online or mobile banking.
Make sure the checking or savings account you submit is active.
Do not add or delete any zeros.
Double- and triple-check all information and numbers before submitting your account information.
